What are the sizes of an Electric car?

We offer Electric cars in sizes from small compact vehicle to mid-sized cross over SUVs. Our electric vehicles all have trunks fitted for luggage, capable of holding from 1 to 3 large suitcases and seating for 4-5 adult to sit comfortably.

Where can I go on an Electric car?

The driving range of the EV is shown on the dashboard when started. Road conditions, weather, temperature, and the total weight of the vehicle, with passengers and luggage can affect the driving range so you should assume that the car can drive up to 80% of the km shown in the dashboard. The displayed driving range is an estimation and should only be used as guidance. All our EV´s have a listed long-range of 400 km and more. Our Electric cars are not allowed on F-roads.

How can I charge my Electric car?

Iceland has a well developed infrastructure, with fast charging stations located in all parts of the country. Inside all our rental cars is a sticker with a QR code which gives access to our safety website and a map of recommended charging stations. Our EV's are equipped with a 'Type 2' charging cable. Customers can use the cable to connect to charging stations around Iceland. Lost or damage to the cable will result in a fee of 65.000 ISK.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy varies based on the type of booking made for the rental. • Refundable booking: Cancel more than 24 hours prior to the rental and get a full refund (100%). In case of a no-show or last day cancellation, we charge 100% of the rental amount.• Nonrefundable booking: No refund in case of cancellation.

What Are The Age Requirements?

Renter must be 20 years of age to rent a 2WD car or a medium sized 4WD/AWD.

Can I book without a credit card?

Yes, even though Credit card payment is the best option to pay for your rental vehicle you;may also book with a debit card if you have the online payment option available on it.

Can I reduce the Liability to Zero?

Yes, all our customers can reduce their liability to zero by opting for our Liability Waiver. Reducing the liability amount for any damage covered by our insurances to zero.

Do you offer roadside assistance?

Yes, we offer 24/7 roadside assistance. Our Roadside Assistance Waiver reduces the amount that Blue Car Rental charges for assistance that is required because of a breakdown, accident, damage, or other reasons that are the driver´s / renter´s responsibility to ZERO.

Do I need to leave a deposit?

No, we do not hold a deposit from our customers while they have a rental car. We need to see a valid credit card on arrival, we will only hold the imprint of the card as a guarantee. If the renter does not have a credit card we do accept 16 digit number debit card.

Our electric vehicles are available for rental throughout the year. Summer, from May to October, is the most popular season for EV travel in Iceland, thanks to longer daylight hours and favorable driving conditions.
