While driving your rental car through them, you can find some of the most amazing scenery Iceland has to offer. However, make sure to stop while enjoying it because no roads in Iceland require as much focus and concentration, as the F-roads do.
Travelling on the F-Roads of Iceland requires a 4x4 rental car. Blue Car Rental has a great selection of 4x4 rental cars. Everything from the Dacia Duster to the mighty Toyota Land Cruiser. In Iceland, you can also find various organized tours through the F-Roads, if you are not comfortable with driving your rental car through the challenges of the F-Roads. Keep in mind that your rental car is not insured when crossing rivers and waters, so be extra careful if you plan on driving yourself.
Please note, that F-roads are not like other regular gravel roads. They can be very rocky, steep and/or muddy, so we advise that beginner drivers do not attempt to drive on them.
