Renter must be 20 years of age to rent a 2WD car or a medium sized 4WD/AWD.

To rent our larger 4WD, SUV´s or Passenger vehicle, the renter must be 23 years of age.

Included in the car rental price rate;

• Unlimited mileage
• 24% VAT tax
• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
• Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW)
• Gravel Protection (GP)
• Theft Protection (TP)

Our cancellation policy varies based on the type of booking made for the rental.

• Refundable booking: Cancel more than 24 hours prior to the rental and get a full refund (100%). In case of a no-show or last day cancellation, we charge 100% of the rental amount.
• Nonrefundable booking: No refund in case of cancellation.

No, we do not hold a deposit from our customers while they have a rental car.

We need to see a valid credit card on arrival, we will only hold the imprint of the card as a guarantee. If the renter does not have a credit card we do accept 16 digit number debit card.

• Yes, even though Credit card payment is the best option to pay for your rental vehicle
• you;may also book with a debit card if you have the online payment option available on it.

No, customers can opt for “pay now” or "pay later."  We encourage customers to finish the payment when making the booking and receive a better price than by paying later.

Blue Car Rental operates from two locations:

• Keflavik International Airport
• Reykjavik City Center

We charge 4.900 ISK one way fee, for collecting in Reykjavik city office and returning at Keflavik Airport office.

Yes, all our customers can reduce their liability to zero by opting for our Liability Waiver. 

Reducing the liability amount for any damage covered by our insurances to zero. 

No, all our rentals have unlimited mileage. 

Yes, we offer 24/7 roadside assistance.

Our Roadside Assistance Waiver reduces the amount that Blue Car Rental charges for assistance that is required because of a breakdown, accident, damage, or other reasons that are the driver´s / renter´s responsibility to ZERO.

Note that in winter (October 16 - May 14), road assistance response times may be longer due to our office closing from 05:00-02:00. If you require assistance outside opening hours, please call 112 for support.
