Keflavik Airport Office:

Located at Blikavöllur 3, at Keflavik International Airport.

In summer we offer continuous service 24/7 at our airport office in Keflavik. (June 1 - November 1)
In winter our Keflavik airport office opens at 5am and closes at 2am. (November 2 - May 31)
Key-box pick up is available 24/7 throughout the year at our Kef airport office.

*Customers collecting their rental cars outside of opening hours are encouraged to use our key-box pick-up option. After-hours key-box pick-up at our airport office must be arranged at least one hour before office closing time at 02:00.

Reykjavik City Office:

Located at Fiskislóð 22, just a short walk from Reykjavik Harbour (Miðbakki) and a 10-minute drive from Reykjavik Harbour (Skarfabakki).

Our Reykjavik office hours are from 8am to 6pm all year-round.
Key-box pick up is available at our office in Reykjavik all year from 6am to 9pm all year.

*Customers collecting their rental cars outside of opening hours are encouraged to use our key-box pick-up option. After-hours key-box pick-up at our city office must be arranged at least one hour before office closing time at 17:00 and online check-in completed before closing time.

Shuttle Service:

Find our Keflavik Airport office at Blikavöllur 3, a brief 4-6-minute stroll from the Keflavik International Airport terminal. Our shuttle ensures a smooth transfer between the terminal and our office every 15 minutes from 06:00 to 18:00.

Blue Car Rental offers a 24/7 customer service. Outside opening hours customers can reach out at anytime by phone for urgent matters.

I booked a Keflavík International Airport pick-up, how do I collect my car?

Our headquarters at Keflavík International Airport is located right next to the airport, at Blikavöllur 3. The office is within walking distance from the airport and takes only about 3 minutes to walk. See how to get there here.

To reach us, feel free to use the shuttle service option from the airport. Once you clear customs and enter the arrivals hall, the car rental shuttle parking space is right outside – next to “Flybus Parking”. This shuttle will take you to the Rental Car Area where Blue Car Rental will be your second stop on its route. Quite convenient and easy to find.

I booked a Reykjavík City Office pick-up, how do I collect my car?

Our Reykjavik City office is located at Fiskislóð 22 in downtown Reykjavík. It is very centrally located and easy to reach on foot for those staying in downtown Reykjavik.

Picking up from our downtown office is free of charge and the office is open from 08:00-18:00.

Where and how will I return the car?

Our customers can either return the car at our office at Blikavöllur 3, 235 Keflavík Airport or at Fiskislóð 22, 101 Reykjavík City.

Is it possible to return the car outside of opening hours?

Yes, you can return the car outside of opening hours in a key box which is located outside our office.

Do you offer Key Box pick up?

We offer all our clients who have added Liability Waiver to their reservation to pick up their car keys through Key Box if they wish.

When you go through the online check-in you can decide if you want to pick up the car keys at the counter or in a key box.

What if happens I´m late for my pick up?

If you’re late for your pick-up, your booking will not be canceled. The car will be ready and waiting for you from your scheduled pick-up time, but please note that the return time will remain unchanged. We kindly ask that you notify us of your late arrival.

Please keep in mind that if you cancel, no refund will be provided in accordance with our cancellation policy. In cases of no-shows or same-day cancellations, 100% of the rental amount will be charged.

Do you offer a fuel discount?

Yes, all customers receive a discount chip attached to their car rental key. This chip provides a 7 ISK discount for every litre of fuel at Olís and ÓB gas stations in Iceland.

Additionally, customers can use the chip to enjoy a 10% discount on food and drinks at Olís stations and their restaurants, including Grill 66, ReDi Deli, and Lemon.

How Does the Wallet Pass Work?

Once you complete the online check-in process, you can receive a wallet pass directly to your phone. The wallet pass includes a unique QR code that streamlines your experience at our office. Simply scan the QR code upon arrival, and you’ll be automatically directed to the correct line. This makes the service faster and more convenient, ensuring a smoother start to your journey with Blue Car Rental.

How do I pay for a parking ticket in Iceland?

You can pay for a parking ticket in Iceland by scanning the QR code printed on the ticket or by visiting bilastaedasjodur.reykjavik.is to pay online.

If you pay the fine within a set time frame, typically within 3 days, the amount is reduced.

If the ticket is not paid before returning the vehicle:

It will be sent to Blue Car Rental by the parking authority.
The full fine amount will be charged to your credit card, along with an additional handling fee.

Using apps like Parka and EasyPark can help you avoid tickets altogether by reminding you to pay for parking and manage your parking sessions more easily during your trip.
